CrowdStrike’s update caused a glitch due to a bug which resulted into outage.
What is CrowdStrike?
CrowdStrike is a leading cybersecurity company known for its advanced endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services. Despite its robust capabilities, users occasionally encounter issues that can impact the performance and effectiveness of the CrowdStrike platform.
What’s the Issue?
Huge Number of Microsoft WINDOWS 10 users are currently suffering from the “BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH” (BSOD) ERROR, which had a severe outage impact on plenty of Banks, Airports and Companies.
People initially assumed it was Microsoft’s fault, it turned out the mess was caused by CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike periodically updates its own software, known as sensors(falcon sensor), which are deployed on client machines to provide endpoint protection, but the recent update broke the csagent.sys
How to Fix It?
Follow these simple steps :
- Boot Windows into Safe Mode or WRE/.
- Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike
- Locate and Delete file matching “C-00000291*.sys”
- Boot normally
